Why are we updating Manzanita’s Housing Ordinances now?
Senate Bill 406 requires cities like Manzanita to audit and update their housing code or ordinances as necessary to remove barriers to ‘middle housing’ on residentially zoned land. Middle housing is sometimes called “the missing middle” and refers to smaller housing types that include duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, townhouses, cottage clusters, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), courtyard apartments, and other similar housing.
